Three training programs. One goal: a strong, successful career.
At METI, we offer three distinct pathways into the electrical industry — all backed by union strength, employer demand, and real career outcomes. Whether you prefer structured classroom learning or hands-on experience, there's a path here that fits your style and sets you up for long-term success.
Each training program prepares you for a different type of electrical work and leads to professional certification — from Journeyman Wireman to Certified Technician — through union-backed jobsite experience and practical training.

INSIDE CONSTRUCTION
Powering everything from schools to skyscrapers.
Commercial and industrial electricians wire and maintain the systems that keep large buildings running. This path prepares you for high-demand work on complex job sites like office towers, factories, and hospitals. Choose from two routes:
- Apprenticeship: A competitive five-year program that blends classroom learning with paid, on-the-job training.
- CW/CE Training Program: A self-paced, field-based, earn-while-you-learn route to Journeyman Wireman status with more hands-on learning and less time in class. Motivated participants can achieve Journeyman status in six years.
